2000-2004: Union of Right Forces
In the early 2000s Konstantin Shvarts was associated with the Union of Right Forces (SPS), at the time Russia's largest liberal democratic party. Its members included Boris Nemtsov, Anatoly Chubais, Irina Khakamada and Boris Nadezhdin.
Boris Nadezhdin
His acquaintance with Boris Nadezhdin goes back to the SPS years. Nadezhdin was a State Duma deputy in 1999-2003, later deputy chairman of the Right Cause party, and in 2024 he ran for President of Russia (the Central Election Commission refused to register him).

2017-2018: Meeting with the 14th Dalai Lama
Konstantin Shvarts helped organise a meeting with His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, part of a series of dialogues with Russian scientists on the nature of consciousness. The episode was humanitarian, not political.
